Role SummaryAs a Transit Planning Specialist, you will be instrumental in various planning and grant writing initiatives essential for transforming the transportation framework. Your responsibilities will encompass developing transit strategies, conducting multimodal corridor assessments, performing subarea evaluations, formulating regional transportation plans, modeling travel demand, crafting policies, and writing grants. Furthermore, you will utilize GIS mapping tools and assist in the creation of detailed reports and memos related to ongoing projects.
The ideal candidate will exhibit excellent communication abilities, feeling comfortable engaging with clients and presenting to diverse audiences.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess studies, formulate policies, and propose solutions for projects of varying scales.
- Offer design insights for community, transportation, and comprehensive planning initiatives.
- Draft environmental impact assessments and project documentation.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure community requirements are met.
- Examine technical reports and conduct design calculations to guide planning choices.
- Coordinate project design necessities and update stakeholders on progress.
- Input and maintain project data in the firm's management system.
- Guide interns and provide technical support to junior staff.
- May oversee student staff and facilitate skill development opportunities.
- Work in diverse terrains and weather conditions at project locations.
Occasional travel for project-related activities and business development may be necessary.
