The Good Samaritan Society is seeking a compassionate and adaptable Certified Nursing Assistant to provide care to residents in various locations within a 150-mile radius. This opportunity offers competitive pay, mileage reimbursement, flexibility, and no contract requirement.
Responsibilities- Assist residents with daily living activities, including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, and providing psychosocial support.
- Provide range of motion and passive exercises, and assist with transfers, repositioning, and walking using correct and appropriate transfer techniques and equipment.
- Complete tasks related to food preparation and dining, while creating a positive dining experience for residents.
- Assist residents with meals and snacks, provide water and supplements as appropriate, and document resident interactions and outcomes.
- Communicate resident's changing condition and care-related concerns/responses to the charge nurse.
- Collect non-invasive body fluid specimens and gather vital signs.
- Provide housekeeping and laundry services to assist residents with keeping living areas clean and operational.
- Participate in departmental/organization committees and task forces as needed.
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.
- Minimum age of 16.
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
- Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement.
- Satisfactorily completes yearly department-specific competency testing and maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year.
