Job Summary

This entry-level position involves training for day-to-day activities as a Civil Technician, including reviewing project specifications, working with Civil Engineers, and documenting construction activities.

Responsibilities
  • Review project specifications and collaborate with Civil Engineers on plan preparation, acceptance testing, design changes, field condition evaluation, and reports.
  • Drive a company vehicle to construction sites and document civil engineering construction activities into a daily log.
  • Communicate with construction contractors and project managers regarding construction activities.
  • Observe construction site operations to ensure conformance with design plans and material specifications.
  • Assist Engineers and Senior Designers with project design and construction plan development using software such as Topo Dot – Micro Station, AutoCAD Civil3D, and ArcGIS.
Requirements
  • Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Management, GIS, Land Surveying, or equivalent experience.
  • General knowledge of construction.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D (preferred).
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and maps.
  • Able to work extended periods in outdoor conditions.
  • Above average math and communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and availability for travel.
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
