Job Summary

Montefiore Medical Center is seeking a skilled Clinical Laboratory Technologist to join our team in Fort Lee, New Jersey.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and emergency tests on blood and other body fluids using automated and manual instrumentation.
  • Monitor specimens to ensure work is completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Review data prior to release and report any panic, abnormal, or unexpected values.
  • Maintain quality control data on tests performed and resolve any QC failures.
  • Prepare reagents and take inventory, and advise supervisor as required.
  • Maintain all records of work performed and keep maintenance logs of equipment.
  • Assist with answering the telephone and perform order entry in the LIS system as necessary.
  • May have individual responsibility for the work of a laboratory unit and provide leadership for technicians.
  • Assist with the training of new employees.
  • Maintain a clean work area in accordance with Infection Control guidelines.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a physical science, medical technology preferred.
  • New York State Department of Education Clinical Laboratory Technologist License or a limited permit are required.
  • Laboratory and hospital information system computers, variety of automated equipment, and other laboratory equipment are required.
