Overview

Boss Truck Shops, Inc. is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic/Technician to join our team. As a Diesel Mechanic/Technician, you will be responsible for performing mechanical repairs on diesel engines and heavy equipment in a timely and professional manner.


Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes and greasing of trucks and trailers.
  • Conduct intermediate to advanced electrical repairs and diagnose causes of failures.
  • Complete intermediate to advanced wheel end repairs, including S-cam/bushing replacement, spindle repairs, and wheel seal replacement.
  • Perform intermediate air system repairs, including tank replacement, air bag replacement, and leveling valve replacement.
  • Conduct basic HVAC repairs, including evacuation and recharge, and verify causes of failure.
  • Complete basic coolant repairs, including thermostat replacement, water pump replacement, and radiator repair.
  • Perform basic welding and conduct basic starting/charging repairs, including battery replacement, alternator replacement, and starter replacement.
  • Complete basic engine repair, including belt replacement, tensioner replacement, and pulley replacement.
  • Perform basic steering/suspension repairs, including shock replacement, reservoir replacement, and filter replacement.
  • Perform basic drivetrain and transmission repairs, including clutch adjustment, U-joint replacement, and carrier bearing replacement.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment and ensure all service equipment is in good working order.
  • Complete work orders by providing necessary customer information, labor performed, and parts used.
  • Ensure total customer satisfaction and the integrity of Boss Truck Shops, Inc.
  • Practice and adhere to all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for employees and customers.

Qualifications
  • Tire Service Certification by TIA within 18 months of employment.
  • Air Brake Certification.
  • DOT Medical Card required at Boss Truck Shops, Inc.
  • Two years minimum experience as a diesel technician.
