Position Overview
The Environmental Services Assistant plays a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation within designated areas, adhering to established protocols and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
1. Execute routine cleaning tasks in assigned locations, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. This may involve specialized areas such as operating rooms and recovery units.
2. Uphold sterile environments as dictated by departmental policies.
3. Manage waste disposal and linen handling, including the removal and replacement of linens in patient care areas.
4. Restock and replenish restroom supplies as necessary.
5. Conduct project-based cleaning of specialized equipment as directed.
6. Utilize cleaning agents according to specified instructions to ensure effective sanitation.
7. Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and alert supervisors when restocking is required.
8. Set up meeting rooms as needed.
9. Perform routine maintenance on floors, both hard and carpeted, as assigned.
10. Complete daily reports and maintain a checklist of tasks performed during shifts.

Qualifications
- Previous experience in cleaning or housekeeping is preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED is required.

Required Skills
- Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions effectively.
- Strong customer service skills with a positive communication approach towards patients, families, and staff.
- Capability to operate various cleaning equipment, including vacuums and scrubbers.
- Physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds regularly and 60 pounds occasionally, bend, reach overhead, and stand for extended periods.
