Job Title: Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Brookside Care Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality respiratory care services to our patients, working closely with our Director of Nursing and Infection Preventionist to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Responsibilities:
  • Administer respiratory therapy treatments and interventions, understanding the purpose and potential side effects of each.
  • Assess patient pain and make appropriate nursing contact for intervention.
  • Follow departmental equipment sterilization procedures and maintain effective infection control.
  • Document all pertinent data on the patient's medical record.
  • Manage and operate equipment safely and correctly, inspecting and testing respiratory therapy equipment to ensure it is functioning safely and efficiently.
  • Formulate care plans based on identified learning needs of patients and evaluate effectiveness of learning.
  • Treat patients and their families with respect and dignity, coordinating and directing patient care to ensure patients' needs are met.
  • Demonstrate ability to assess patient, his/her need, and ability to tolerate treatment and reassessment for response to treatment.
  • Deal with pressure to meet deadlines, be accurate, and handle constantly changing situations.
  • Deal with a variety of people, deal with stressful situations, and handle conflict.
  • Attend and conduct education inservice programs to maintain professional competency.
  • Perform all additional duties as assigned by the department manager.
  • In charge therapist role, responsible for the daily operation of the shift, including work assignments, troubleshooting, responding to emergencies, and liaison with nurses, Director of Nursing, the Administrator and Physicians.
Requirements:
  • Current State Respiratory Therapist Licensure.
  • Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Respiratory Therapy.
  • Possesses and Maintains an active CRT or RRT credential.
  • Current ACLS and BLS Certification.
