We are looking for a dedicated Cost Accountant to contribute to our financial operations. This position is crucial for ensuring the financial health of our projects through detailed cost analysis and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain cost standards for materials and labor.
  • Generate cost and expenditure reports regularly for management review.
  • Evaluate costs and propose strategies for cost savings.
  • Prepare forecasts for costs on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Analyze actual costs and create reports comparing budgeted figures to real expenditures.
  • Document cost information to aid in expenditure control.
  • Conduct audits of costs and compile comprehensive reports.
  • Estimate costs for new and proposed products.
  • Review and assess cost of goods sold and margin analysis.
  • Oversee physical inventories and manage the cycle count program.
  • Examine standard and actual costs for discrepancies.
  • Confirm the accuracy of cost of goods sold during month-end processes.
  • Collaborate with the finance team for month-end closing activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably within the construction sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP.
  • Experience with invoicing and financial reporting processes.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with a solid understanding of financial reports and forecasts.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Familiarity with accounting software and databases.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.
