Job Overview

The role of the Software Engineering Advisor involves providing support for the Acquisition Readiness (AR) Performance Assessment (PA) Information Technology Support Services (ITSS) contract. This position is integral to the NSWC Corona Division, which focuses on specialized technical capabilities such as Warfare Systems Performance Assessment and Acquisition and Readiness Assessment.

The NSWC Corona Division employs a structured approach to evaluate and manage material readiness through the use of custom tools, databases, data lakes, data warehouses, and business intelligence interfaces. This enables the delivery of authoritative metrics, trends, and insights. Furthermore, the division offers quantitative performance assessments utilizing bespoke analysis tools to process and visualize data for various military branches, ensuring effective fleet interoperability and weapon systems analysis.

The Software Engineering Advisor will be responsible for:

  • Analyzing, designing, and developing testing protocols and automation suites.
  • Creating a processing platform with various configuration management technologies.
  • Testing software development methodologies within an agile framework.
  • Providing ongoing maintenance, support, and enhancements for existing systems and platforms.
  • Collaborating across teams with data scientists, business users, project managers, and fellow engineers to devise elegant solutions and recommend continuous improvements.

Education Requirements:

A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field is required.

Experience Requirements:

3-5 years of relevant professional experience is expected.

This position necessitates a SECRET clearance, with interim clearances being acceptable.

Travel may be required, as work will primarily be conducted at designated facilities, with potential assignments at various locations worldwide.
