Position Overview:

We are looking for a skilled WELDING INSPECTOR to collaborate closely with the Quality Assurance Manager. This role involves overseeing both shop and field operations. The Welding Inspector will assess ongoing fabrication and construction processes of metal products to verify compliance with production specifications, internal standards, and relevant regulations. This position may require travel up to 30% of the time, with a competitive salary in the $100K range based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspections of specialized equipment according to the company’s inspection protocols, focusing on carbon steel and stainless steel.
  • Advance the integration of additional equipment into the inspection framework.
  • Manage the internal equipment inspection program and maintain the associated database.
  • Perform inspections at both plant and job sites to assess welding quality against established criteria.
  • Document and communicate the inspection findings using the designated inspection forms.
  • Issue nonconformance reports as necessary to inform relevant personnel of any discrepancies identified.
  • Support the development of new welding procedures and assist in maintaining certifications for welders across the organization.
  • Participate in the evaluation of new employees' welding certifications.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred experience of three to five years in a similar role.
  • Proficiency with ASME BPVC. VIII standards is essential.
  • Quality Assurance and/or Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) credentials are advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Experience with stainless steel, carbon steel, and nickel alloy welding is required.
