Our state-of-the-art facility is equipped to handle a wide range of critical injuries, and our team of skilled professionals plays a vital role in ensuring the highest standard of care.
Position Overview: In the role of a Critical Care Veterinary Technician, your responsibilities will include:
- Collecting biological samples, placing intravenous catheters, and preparing intravenous fluids and additives.
- Calculating and administering medications, fluid additives, and continuous rate infusions (CRIs).
- Monitoring vital signs, telemetry, and patients reliant on oxygen support.
- Managing the placement and upkeep of nasogastric tubes, nasal cannulas, and central venous catheters.
- Prioritizing patient treatments, delegating tasks, triaging critical cases, and communicating changes in patient status to veterinarians.
- Educating and updating pet owners regarding their pets' conditions and facilitating discharges.
Shift Information: Day shifts consisting of three 12-hour shifts; specific days to be determined.
Compensation: The wage scale is as follows:
- Assistant: $18 - $23/hr
- RVT: $25 - $31/hr
- VTS: $31 - $40/hr
Candidate Profile:
- A minimum of three years of experience in a veterinary hospital environment is required, with at least two years in emergency and critical care.
- Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) certification is preferred.
- Strong ability to work collaboratively and build lasting relationships with colleagues and clients.
- A positive attitude and the capacity to thrive in a team-oriented setting.
