Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Microbiologist to join our team at Actalent. As a key member of our Life Sciences division, you will be responsible for conducting microbiological tests, analyzing results, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • E. Coli Culturing: Develop and implement effective culturing methods for E. Coli in various testing applications.
  • Testing and Analysis: Conduct thorough microbiological tests and analyze results to ensure compliance with FDA and EPA regulations.
  • SOP Development: Create and update microbiology Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for use by non-microbiologists, ensuring clarity and ease of understanding.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all laboratory activities comply with FDA and EPA regulations, maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Independent Work: Manage and execute projects independently, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and initiative.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all laboratory activities and findings.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to support the Life Sciences division's project goals.
Qualifications
  • Education: Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of experience or Master's degree/PhD in Microbiology or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of industry experience in an FDA/EPA regulated environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in culturing E. Coli and conducting microbiological tests.
  • SOP Writing: Experience in writing microbiology SOPs for non-specialist users.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of FDA and EPA regulations.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Independence: Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree: Master's degree or PhD in Microbiology or a related field.
  • Additional Experience: More than 2 years of industry experience.
  • Training Skills: Experience in training non-microbiologists on microbiology procedures.
