Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Child and Youth Program Assistant Director to join our team at Naval District Washington (NDW) (NAF). The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our child and youth programs, ensuring the highest level of quality and care for our participants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of child and youth programs, including family day care, part-day preschool, and before and after school programs.
  • Supervise and train staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide high-quality care and services to children and youth.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of services and programs.
  • Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, making recommendations for improvement as needed.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of children and youth, including the implementation of emergency procedures and protocols.
  • Develop and manage budgets, ensuring effective use of resources and funds.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, parents, and other stakeholders to ensure transparency and collaboration.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Child Development, Education, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least two years of experience working with children and youth, preferably in a leadership or management role.
  • Knowledge of child development principles, practices, and techniques.
  • Ability to develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze data and make recommendations for improvement.
