Position Overview:
The Department of Art and Art History within the College of Humanities and Fine Arts is gathering application materials for a pool of lecturers, with positions available based on departmental needs throughout the academic year.
We are particularly seeking instructors for in-person course delivery. Appointments from this lecturer pool are temporary and often finalized just before the academic term commences.Minimum Qualifications:
A degree in a relevant field is the minimum educational requirement for a lecturer appointment (preferably a terminal degree).
Preferred Qualifications:A terminal degree in a relevant discipline
Relevant Experience:
Previous teaching experience, particularly with diverse student populations; professional credentials, licenses, and additional relevant skills.
Bilingual candidates will receive preference.Responsibilities:
Lecturers will be assigned to teach one or more sections of courses for which they are deemed qualified by the Department Personnel Committee. Teaching assignments will depend on individual qualifications and departmental needs.

The Department of Art and Art History is accredited by NASAD.
It offers BA options in Art Education, Art History, and Art Studio, as well as a BFA program with concentrations in Art Studio and Interior Architecture.
An MA in Art History is also available.The faculty comprises dedicated artists and scholars engaged in art, pedagogy, and community outreach.
Our students reflect the campus's commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, producing innovative work for galleries and public venues that engage with contemporary issues. The department includes twelve full-time faculty members, a substantial pool of part-time faculty, and five staff members. The studio facilities are well-equipped with labs for ceramics, drawing, digital media, glass, painting, photography, printmaking, and sculpture.Art History strengths include Mesoamerican, Medieval, and Modern studies, with specialists in postcolonial and critical race studies, feminism, and gender studies.
Art Education emphasizes Cultural Diversity in Art Education and Pop Culture.The Ira Latour Visual Resources Center is an award-winning facility housing a vast collection of books, periodicals, videos, and digital images.
Additional teaching resources include the Hopper Visiting Artists series and the Jacki Headley University Art Gallery, which hosts exhibitions of regional and nationally recognized artists.
The Janet Turner Print Museum maintains an extensive permanent collection of over 4,000 prints from the 16th century to the present.
