Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Staff Accountant to join our Accounting Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for special project billing, sales tax verification and filings, bank reconciliations, and preparing and entering journal entries.

You will take ownership of reporting costs, productivity, margins, and expenditures for the company. The successful incumbent will possess solid communication, technology, organizational, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare financial analyses and reports
  • Assist with preparing and monitoring budgets
  • Assist with annual audit preparations
  • Prepare and support with journal entries and reconciliation of general ledger accounts
  • Support with month-end responsibilities
  • Prepare and/or support with sales tax analyses and filings
  • Assist accounting team resolving any finance issues
  • Support with preparing financial statements
  • Assist with financial reporting and regulatory audits
  • Assist with ad-hoc reports, projects, and activities, as required

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field of study
  • 5+ years of Accounting/Finance experience
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations
  • Experience in preparing State/local/sales & use tax filings
  • Thorough understanding of accounting and tax preparation software and databases
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite with strong Excel skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment using well-developed time management skills and the demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and delegate when appropriate
  • Project management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Oracle NetSuite proficiency

Work Environment

This role will work from our Lisle, IL headquarters on a hybrid work schedule that offers the opportunity to work 3 days in office and 2 remote following your initial training period.
