Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all kitchen operations, including food preparation and production, while assisting in the management and training of kitchen personnel.
  • Ensure the efficient and profitable operation of food production.
  • Regularly supervise and inspect all cooking and preparation equipment to maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and optimal functioning.
  • Guarantee that food products, presentation, and plating meet the highest standards and are prepared promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with all food quality, preparation, recipes, and presentation standards.
  • Monitor food storage, rotation, and sanitation standards to ensure compliance.
  • Train kitchen staff in best practices for cleanliness and sanitation.
  • Collaborate with the Food and Beverage Director, Sales and Catering Team, and Banquet Captain to execute events effectively.
  • Capable of preparing and serving food for events with attendance exceeding 400 guests.
  • Participate in mandatory meetings related to food and beverage operations.
  • Assist the Food and Beverage Director as needed.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required; formal culinary training or an associate degree in culinary arts preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of cooking experience in a hotel or large catering/event venue.
  • Prior supervisory experience in a kitchen setting is required.
  • Strong communication skills with managers, kitchen staff, and guests.
  • Safe Food Handling Certification is necessary.
  • Ability to perform calculations and mathematical functions to meet business needs.
  • Flexible scheduling to meet the demands of the hotel is essential.
  • MUST possess a friendly demeanor and be willing to engage with guests.
  • A strong work ethic and a desire to excel are crucial.
  • A clean background check and reliable transportation are mandatory.
  • Physical ability to lift, pull, and push moderate weights is required.
  • Familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment, including Turbo Chef, is beneficial.
  • Ability to handle feedback and suggestions constructively.
  • Knowledge of PosiTouch is highly desirable.
