Job Summary

Amazon is seeking a highly skilled Finance Manager to join the Database Service (Non-Relational) team. This role will be responsible for owning end-to-end Finance support, including P&L management and planning, as well as driving strategic new feature launches and process improvements across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead financial planning and build complex financial models to measure overall financial performance.
  • Owning end-to-end P&L management and influencing business decisions that drive revenue and/or capital expenditures.
  • Support strategic new feature launches and ad-hoc requests, and assist in various requests from finance and business leadership.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements, including automation and coordination with upstream and downstream organizations.
  • Partner with Finance teams across AWS to standardize, streamline, and prioritize improvements, remove roadblocks, and increase the reliability and efficiency of reporting.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of tax, finance, or a related analytical field experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field, or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role experience.
  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools, such as SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos, and other financial systems, such as Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards.
  • Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results.
  • 5+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience.
  • 5+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause, and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience.
  • 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business experience.
  • MBA, or CPA.
  • Knowledge of SQL/ETL.
  • 6+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience.
  • 6+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market.

Pay is based on a number of factors, including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
