Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver patient care in a clinical expertise role, utilizing research and evidence-based practices to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Care for patients from multiple services/specialties, including CCC, Urgent Care, Urology, OBGYN, Mental Health, and other specialty clinics.
  • Coordinate the planning for the delivery of nursing care with a multidisciplinary team and administer appropriate clinical decisions in the delivery of care.
  • Review charts prior to patients' scheduled appointment to ensure that all requested lab work and diagnostic procedures have been completed.
  • Review, obtain, and record patient vital signs, temperature, pulse, height, weight, and blood pressure, and use the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) appropriately.
  • Assist providers with patient examinations and procedures, including surgical procedures, GYN exams, diagnostic studies, and treatments.
  • Operate and monitor functioning of equipment, hand instruments to the provider, and conduct hearing, vision, breathing, and EKG testing.
  • Administer medications as directed, perform venipuncture, collect urine specimens, and complete lab tests procedures according to policies and procedures.
  • Ensure safe care to patients, staff, and visitors, adhere to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications.
  • Promote individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Vocational Nursing required.
  • Current State of Texas license or temporary/compact license to practice as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN).
  • Current American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification or within 30 days of hire.
  • Specialty clinic experience preferred.
