Key Responsibilities
  • Specimen Processing and Management
    • Receive, triage, and process specimens for laboratory testing
    • Label and transport specimens to the appropriate laboratory areas
    • Perform phlebotomy and other specialized specimen collection procedures as needed
  • Laboratory Support
    • Assist pathologists and other laboratory personnel with specimen grossing and processing
    • Operate automated instrumentation and perform maintenance tasks as needed
    • Recognize and resolve problems with specimens, such as mislabels or incorrect tube types
  • Communication and Teamwork
    • Communicate effectively with laboratory personnel, physicians, and other stakeholders
    • Collaborate with the laboratory team to ensure smooth operation and high-quality patient care
Requirements
  • Education
    • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience
    • Minimum of 3 years of related experience required
  • Certifications
    • Relevant certification (e.g., phlebotomy, medical laboratory assistant) preferred
