The Specialist will provide constructive feedback to management to ensure that maintenance activities are timely, strategic, and seamlessly integrated into daily operations.

Additionally, this role requires interaction with vendors and contractors to guarantee that all tasks utilize the appropriate level of expertise.


Key Responsibilities:

The primary duties of the Facility Maintenance Specialist encompass all aspects of facility upkeep and the various departments to address necessary maintenance and repairs. This is essential for maximizing productivity and preventing failures while upholding the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the premises.

  • Responsible for daily sanitation protocols, including restrooms, hallways, break areas, and all indoor/outdoor spaces.
  • Restocks all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), waste disposal, and restroom supplies throughout the facility on a daily basis.
  • Conducts minor repairs on all buildings and equipment with minimal oversight, including but not limited to lighting systems, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Handles major repairs under the guidance of the Facilities Manager, which may involve collaboration with external contractors or licensed tradespeople.
  • Utilizes vehicles, tools, materials, and maintenance supplies safely and effectively.
  • Installs and maintains new equipment as directed by the Facilities Manager.
  • Troubleshoots minor maintenance issues related to electrical, structural, plumbing, and equipment.
  • Adheres to maintenance schedules set by the Facilities Manager, ensuring routine maintenance is performed efficiently.
  • Coordinates maintenance tasks that exceed personal expertise while continuously learning from contractors to reduce reliance on external services.
  • May perform custodial tasks as needed, such as snow removal.
  • Responsible for laundering employee uniforms to ensure cleanliness for each shift.
  • May assist in other departments as required.

Administrative Duties:

Maintains accurate records of repairs, equipment cleaning, maintenance, and calibration logs as assigned by the supervising personnel.

Reports any system failures, malfunctions, or facility damages promptly to the Facilities Manager.

Assists in completing daily, weekly, and monthly checklists related to building equipment and maintenance procedures.

Must adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) established for the facility.


Additional Responsibilities:

Assists in completing secondary facility tasks as needed. Follows all workplace safety protocols and maintains compliance with relevant regulations to ensure a clean and safe working environment.


Qualifications:

Education and Experience: A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a Bachelor's Degree is preferred. A minimum of two years of experience in building and mechanical equipment maintenance and repair is preferred.

Knowledge of trades such as plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, drywall, and tile installation is essential, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.

Familiarity with the regulated industry is strongly preferred.


Mandatory Qualifications:

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and comply with federal law regarding identity and eligibility to work.

Completion of state and federal background checks is required.


Skills and Abilities:

To perform this role successfully, candidates must demonstrate the following:

  • Basic math skills for inventory and measurements.
  • Knowledge of industrial cleaning equipment and maintenance.
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate reliability.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Proficient computer skills.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires extended periods of standing, walking, bending, and reaching. Candidates must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds over a distance of 100 feet.

Close visual focus is necessary, and the role may involve repetitive use of hands and arms for tasks such as cutting and manipulating small objects.

Compliance with hygiene requirements is mandatory while working in the facility.
