The Cost & Producibility Strategy Leader will spearhead the cost reduction and manufacturability strategy across the complete propulsion system, ensuring seamless integration with other advanced engine initiatives where applicable.
Key Responsibilities
This leader will facilitate collaboration among design, manufacturing engineering, and supply chain teams to prioritize manufacturability for prototype engines and establish a cost reduction pipeline for future product endeavors.
Systems engineering encompasses a holistic engineering discipline that focuses on a systematic approach, mindset, and process. It involves all activities that address both business and technical requirements of customers, aiming to deliver a high-quality product that fulfills user needs.
Core Functions
The role entails executing a comprehensive process of design, creation, and optimization of systems, which includes:
- Identifying and quantifying system requirements.
- Developing alternative system design concepts.
- Conducting design trade studies.
- Selecting and implementing optimal designs.
- Verifying proper integration and execution of designs.
This process spans from concept through production to operational phases, significantly impacting the team's ability to meet service, quality, and timeliness objectives. The position operates under established policy objectives, allowing for moderate autonomy.
Decision-Making and Leadership
High levels of operational judgment are essential to achieve desired outcomes. The leader will:
- Oversee component and product integration.
- Manage product and systems requirements, specifications, and flow down.
- Drive validation and verification activities for the overall product/system, including system-level testing.
- Define product requirements for modules, components, subcontractors, and partner teams.
- Facilitate the interface between components and execution organizations.
- Drive critical-to-quality (CTQ) and risk trade-offs within design teams.
- Manage overall product configuration and configuration control systems.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates must:
- Possess a bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
- Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in Systems Engineering.
- Be able to obtain and maintain a US DOD security clearance as a US citizen.

- A master's degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal and leadership abilities.
