Substitute Custodian

Maintain a clean and safe environment for students and staff at Mount Vernon City Schools as a Substitute Custodian. This role involves performing various custodial tasks, operating equipment, and assisting with daily operations.

• Sweep, mop, and clean floors, stairwells, and restrooms
• Operate equipment such as vacuum cleaners, floor scrubbers, and mowers
• Keep waste baskets empty and clean, dust furniture, and clean fixtures
• Assist with breakfast and lunch duties, including cleaning tables and removing trash
• Report any unsafe conditions to the supervisor or principal

• Ability to learn procedures for safe equipment operation
• Basic knowledge of health and environmental regulations
• Pass a general background check (BCI/FBI)
