We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist to join our team at LewisGale Hospital Alleghany. As a Medical Technologist, you will be responsible for performing laboratory tests and procedures to provide data for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct complex analysis of microscopic, immunologic, biologic, bacteriologic, hematologic, and chemical tests and their results.
- Receive and process specimens, and maintain accurate records of test results.
- Troubleshoot and resolve instrument problems, and document corrective action.
- Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
- Train new employees and students in laboratory procedures and techniques.
- Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Sciences or related field.
- MT registry or eligible, with successful completion of MT registry within 6 months of eligibility or hire.
- ASCP or equivalent certification preferred.
