Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Childcare Professional to join our team at Wheaton Park District. As a key member of our Kidz Kingdom team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care and supervision to children enrolled in our programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Setup and prepare equipment and supplies for daily use.
  • Assist in planning and implementing daily activities and programming.
  • Supervise and interact with children during activities, providing positive and enriching experiences.
  • Greet and acknowledge members and guests entering Kidz Kingdom.
  • Ensure a safe and secure environment at all times.
  • Clean and sanitize equipment daily, reporting needed repairs promptly.
  • Collect and process paperwork from parents/legal guardians.
  • Plan and prepare crafts with colleagues.
  • Maintain effective communication with participants and parents.
  • Administer medications as needed, with written consent.
  • Observe and assess behavior, applying behavior management techniques when necessary.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, promoting team building and excellent service to external customers.
  • Follow Wheaton Park District policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Embody the V.A.L.U.E.S. principles (integrity, fun, commitment, adaptability and growth, kindness, and service) in daily work.
  • Maintain a high level of safety awareness and adherence to safety guidelines and procedures.
Requirements
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Previous childcare experience, with ability to communicate with children aged 2-7 years.
  • Good organizational, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills.
  • Current CPR/AED certification for infant/child and Mandated Reporter certification.
Working Conditions

This position will primarily work in an office environment, with exposure to dust, cleaning chemicals, and child illnesses.

Compensation

$15.00 per hour.

Hours

Thursday and Friday, 8:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.
