Maintenance Equipment Specialist

The Maintenance Equipment Specialist is responsible for performing a variety of tasks to ensure the smooth operation of manufacturing and facility equipment. This includes troubleshooting, installing, repairing, and maintaining equipment to prevent downtime and optimize production.
Key Responsibilities- Study blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to determine installation procedures
- Repair or adjust equipment, machines, or defective components
- Maintain equipment logs to record performance problems, repairs, calibrations, or tests
- Inspect components of industrial equipment for accurate assembly and installation or for defects
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks to detect and prevent problems
- Replace and realign machine parts and accessories in line with production specifications
- Remove defective parts by dismantling devices using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools
- Test faulty equipment to diagnose malfunctions using test equipment and/or PLC software
- Maintain equipment, parts, and supply inventories by checking stock to determine inventory levels and anticipating needed equipment, parts, and suppliers
- Analyze repetitive trouble to prevent recurrence
- Set up and test industrial equipment to ensure it functions properly
- Operate equipment to demonstrate proper use or to analyze malfunctions
- Coordinate efforts with other workers involved in installing or maintaining equipment or components
- Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma/GED with three (3) or more years of experience
- Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school is preferred
- Skills and Abilities: Good understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems; experience with fabrication (welding is a plus); must be very detail-oriented; must be able to read and understand diagrams, blueprints, and technical equipment manuals; must be an effective learner; must be able to work alone and in teams; must be highly safety-oriented; ability to learn and identify tools and their proper uses
