Safeguarding Advisor

Save the Children is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safeguarding Advisor to join our team. As a key member of our Head Start program, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of children, families, and staff.

• Develop and implement safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure alignment with Save the Children's and Head Start's requirements.
• Conduct ongoing training and monitoring of program activities to ensure compliance with safeguarding policies.
• Cultivate a culture of safeguarding across programs, guiding and monitoring the implementation of active supervision and positive guidance techniques.
• Collaborate with program Human Resources and management staff on hiring practices and employment engagement strategies to mitigate safeguarding risks.
• Coordinate the roll-out of the trauma-informed care approach and develop staff capacity related to trauma-informed care practices.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, plus at least five (5) years of relevant experience.
• Proven knowledge of child development (0-5 years of age).
• Demonstrated ability to critically evaluate incidents and provide constructive advice and guidance, while maintaining appropriate professional confidentiality.
• Professional proficiency in MS Office suite and spoken and written English.
