Assembler I Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Assembler I to join our team at Sonoco, a global leader in consumer, industrial, healthcare, and protective packaging. As an Assembler I, you will play a critical role in efficiently assembling customer-fabricated packaging to customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Closely follow all order and quality instructions, including CQS, production print, and production packet.
  • Ensure all safety, quality, and operating procedures are followed at all times.
  • Accurately report product data, including piece count, times, work order #, and maintain records as required.
  • Dispose of scrap by baling, disposing, or storing in designated areas as required.
  • Take required measurements using a tape measure or other measuring device or gauge, and work from drawings, prints, and specs as required.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area (good housekeeping).
  • Maintain and document quality checks confirming specifications for each job ran, including 1st piece and periodic checks.
  • Perform all duties as designated by supervisor/manager, communicate all quality, personnel, machine, and tool issues to supervisor immediately.
  • Assist in physical inventory at month-end, year-end, and during audits.
