Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team at Bell-Minor Home Inc. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality resident care and support in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct resident care duties under the supervision of licensed nursing personnel, including personal care, ambulation, and vital sign monitoring.
  • Assist with promoting a compassionate physical and psychosocial environment for residents, including providing emotional support and comfort.
  • Participate in collecting data needed for the accurate completion of the MDS and the plan of care, and provide input to the nurses for development of the plan of care.
  • Prepare residents for meals, transport them to the dining room, and assist with feeding as needed.
  • Keep accurate records of food intake and output, and assist with the basics of aseptic and sterile techniques to avoid infection.
  • Be alert for proper ventilation, temperature, light, and noise control, and take TPR, blood pressure, and weighing of residents as directed.
  • Promptly answer call lights and other resident needs, and utilize proper body mechanics when lifting or transporting residents.
  • Assist in the orientation and training of other staff, as requested, and attend in-service education programs to meet facility educational requirements.
Requirements
  • Current Nursing Assistant Certification from a recognized accrediting agency.
  • CPR Certification.
  • High School Graduate or GED.
  • Organized and detailed in work performance, with good communication skills and excellent self-discipline.
  • Caring for and interest in elderly and disabled people in a nursing facility.
  • Comply with the Resident Rights and Facility Policies and Procedures.
Working Conditions

This position is subject to frustrations in meeting work demands due to frequent interruptions, and may involve exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc. The employee must be able to function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies.

The physical demands of this position include standing, walking, and lifting, with occasional bending, squatting, and climbing. The employee must be able to meet general health requirements set forth by the policies of this facility.
