- Provide Guidance and Support: Offer guidance and support to general education teachers in implementing accommodations and modifications for students with disabilities.
- Maintain Accurate Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, attendance, and other relevant information.
- Communicate with Parents/Guardians: Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to provide feedback on student progress and address their concerns.
- Attend Meetings and Professional Development: Attend IEP meetings, team meetings, and professional development sessions as required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or Related Field: Possess a Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Valid IL Teaching License in Special Education: Hold a valid IL teaching license in Special Education.
- Experience Working with Students with Diverse Learning Needs: Have experience working with students with diverse learning needs, including those with specific learning disabilities, emotional/behavioral disorders, and autism spectrum disorders.
- Knowledge of Special Education Laws and Regulations: Possess knowledge of special education laws and regulations, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
- Strong Understanding of Evidence-Based Instructional Strategies: Have a strong understanding of evidence-based instructional strategies and interventions for students with disabilities.
- Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents/guardians, and external stakeholders.
- Organizational Skills and Attention to Detail: Demonstrate organizational skills and attention to detail to maintain accurate records and comply with administrative requirements.
- Ability to Work Independently: Possess the ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
