Job Description

ZincFive Inc is seeking a highly skilled Senior Applications Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the development of new products and the expansion of our Nickel-Zinc battery technology into new application areas.

The selected candidate will be responsible for managing the assessment of new opportunities and applications in the early stages of our product lifecycle management process. This will involve generating project proposals, understanding and managing market and product requirements, and creating high-level system architecture and functional block diagrams.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field, and will have at least 7 years of experience in high-tech product development. They will also have excellent leadership and project management skills, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the Applications Engineering team in the creation of innovative and robust solutions to address customer needs
  • Work with customers, strategic partners, and internal stakeholders to create and vet ideas for new products
  • Define application and product requirements and assess compatibility with our Nickel-Zinc technology
  • Act as Project Manager during the concept and feasibility phase of the product development process
  • Develop detailed project plans, Gantt charts, and effectively manage constraints

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field
  • 7+ years of experience in high-tech product development
  • Strong leadership and project management skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver on-time in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Experience/Skills:

  • Experience working with and understanding various battery chemistries and/or battery products
  • Relevant product or industry-specific experiences such as in battery backup or in uninterruptible power supplies
  • Hands-on experience with Nickel, Zinc, and/or alkaline-based battery technology
