We are seeking a highly skilled Academic Advisor to join our team at InsideHigherEd. The successful candidate will provide personalized support to graduate students, helping them navigate the academic journey and achieve their goals.
Key Responsibilities- Student Support: Provide one-on-one advising to graduate students, helping them select courses, create graduation plans, and achieve academic success.
- Career Development: Offer career advising expertise to graduate students, including resume building, interviewing, and job search strategies.
- Program Development: Assist in the development and implementation of programs to support graduate students, including retention initiatives and academic support services.
- Communication: Serve as a liaison between graduate students, faculty, and staff, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Analysis and Evaluation: Monitor and analyze data to evaluate the effectiveness of academic support services and make recommendations for improvement.
- Education: Master's degree or closely related field with applicable experience in higher education settings.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience working in higher education, preferably in academic advising or student support services.
- Skills: Superior listening and critical thinking skills, ability to multi-task, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
This is a full-time position with no supervisory responsibilities. The successful candidate will work in a typical interior and/or office work environment and may be required to travel for recruiting students.
