Position Summary
The Facilities Engineer plays a crucial role in supporting the operations of Fidelity Investments Real Estate Company. As an integral part of the engineering team, you will oversee, manage, and execute essential maintenance tasks, ensuring the continuous operation of the facility or campus.
Key Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant facilities experience, including at least 2 years in a critical environment.
- Preferred qualifications include licensed HVAC, pipefitting, plumbing credentials, or EPA certification.
- Experience with mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, or control systems.
- Ability to interpret engineering schematics, construction documents, and operation and maintenance manuals.
- Demonstrated expertise in installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical circuits in accordance with the National Electrical Code and industry standards.
- Capability to develop and uphold procedures such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Maintenance Operating Procedures (MOP).
- Driven by the understanding that your work is vital to various components with significant business implications.
- Proven track record of fostering a positive team culture while collaborating with a group of 8-12 professionals.
- Consistently setting high standards for engineering excellence, while promoting outstanding performance and maintenance practices.
- Proficient in various PC applications, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, CMMS, and facility BMS systems.
- Highly organized and meticulous in managing maintenance priorities and protocols.
- A strong team player with a collaborative approach.
- Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Contributions to the Organization
- Conduct all preventive and corrective maintenance on building mechanical systems to ensure critical cooling, heating, and humidity control with minimal disruption to business operations.
- Oversee multiple building systems, rectifying performance issues through BMS adjustments, on-site maintenance, and effective emergency response as necessary.
- Assist vendors and contractors in executing repair tasks.
- Exhibit the ability to collaborate with and support the engineering team.
- Utilize tools, processes, and procedures to ensure a smooth flow of information and activities.
- Maintain daily logs and update engineering staff through appropriate communication channels.
- Support departmental projects, planning, and enhancements.
- Contribute to Fidelity's ISO-14001 Environmental Management System, ISO-27001 Information Security Management, and SSAE-16/18 regulatory compliance.
- Demonstrate the ability to switch to backup generators and bypass UPS systems during electrical alarms or failures, following established procedures and ensuring accurate communication of actions taken.
- Complete critical maintenance tasks punctually and with a keen attention to detail.
