Position Overview:
As a Registered Nurse (RN) Resident on our Med/Surg Floor, you will engage in a comprehensive residency program tailored to your individual learning needs. This program emphasizes direct patient care, mentorship, and the development of essential nursing skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in a structured residency curriculum designed to enhance your nursing capabilities.
- Deliver direct nursing care under the guidance of an experienced coach, adhering to established healthcare protocols.
- Assess and prioritize patient care activities based on individual needs and available resources.
- Implement and maintain interventions to ensure safe and effective patient care.
- Respond proactively to health risks and initiate corrective actions.
- Seek guidance and support when necessary to ensure safe practice.
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Utilize effective communication strategies to achieve positive patient outcomes.
- Document patient care accurately in accordance with established guidelines.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Licensure and Certifications:
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification may be required based on the clinical area.
- Additional certifications may be necessary for specific departments.
Work Environment:
- Requires critical thinking and the ability to work independently.
- Must be able to function effectively in a high-pressure environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and moving patients.
- Requires prolonged standing and walking.
- Exposure to potentially hazardous conditions, including communicable diseases.
