Position Overview:

Role: Morning Kitchen Attendant

As a vital member of our culinary team, the Morning Kitchen Attendant will collaborate with our daytime staff, focusing on maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen and dishwashing areas, assisting with inventory management, and engaging in light food preparation as needed. A commitment to hard work and a willingness to acquire new skills are essential. Dependability and adaptability are key factors in our selection process. Previous experience is advantageous but not mandatory.

Compensation: Salary will be commensurate with experience.

Potential pathways include positions such as Cook or Stewarding Supervisor, leading to roles like Executive Steward or Sous Chef.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently wash dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans.
  • Operate dishwashing machinery and other sanitation equipment.
  • Organize and store clean dishes, utensils, and cooking tools in designated areas.
  • Ensure kitchen workspaces, equipment, and utensils are kept clean and orderly.
  • Restock supplies, including food items and utensils, in serving areas and storage locations.
  • Maintain cleanliness by sweeping and mopping floors and emptying trash receptacles.
  • Sort and dispose of waste, placing it in designated collection zones.
  • Assist with food preparation during busy periods or staff shortages.
  • Contribute to enhancing guest satisfaction scores by maintaining high service standards.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, utilize protective equipment, and comply with MSDS and OSHA regulations.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by management.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a stewarding role is preferred, or equivalent training.
  • A positive attitude and a willingness to learn.

Work Environment:

  • Shifts may vary and include weekends and holidays.
  • Physical demands include standing for long periods, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and performing bending and reaching tasks.
