Job Summary

UPMC is seeking a Patient Care Technician to join our team. As a Patient Care Technician, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our patients and families.

Responsibilities
  • Provide patient care, including assisting with procedures and activities of daily living
  • Assist with physical, respiratory, and cardiopulmonary therapies
  • Provide feedback to the RN regarding patient care and report changes in patient status
  • Perform UPMC nursing core nursing assistant responsibilities, including ADLs, vital signs, and specimen collections
  • Assist with phlebotomy, 12-lead EKG, and other advanced skills as needed
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of general healthcare experience or completion of a nursing assistant program
  • Successful completion of UPMC patient care technician class
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Act 34 clearance
