Role ResponsibilitiesThe Clinical Nurse Coordinator - Oncology is responsible for ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care and managing all operational aspects of the unit during their shift. Collaborating with the management team, the CNC oversees nursing care in alignment with established protocols, serves as a resource for staff, and exemplifies the organization's mission and values to enhance patient experiences and clinical outcomes.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Facilitating admission and discharge processes to promote efficient patient flow and high-quality care.
- Engaging in continuous assessment of care quality in collaboration with management.
- Working with subject matter experts to foster a collaborative environment that enhances service delivery.
- Promoting a patient-first philosophy and addressing service recovery when necessary.
- Implementing nursing strategies to improve staff engagement and operational efficiency.
- Providing input on hiring, training, and performance management of nursing staff.
- Managing staff schedules in accordance with patient care needs and productivity standards.
- Overseeing inventory management and supply control.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program.
- Current RN license in Texas or a compact license.
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- ACLS certification required within one year of employment.
- PALS certification preferred.
- ONS Chemotherapy Biotherapy certificate required within one year of employment.
- A minimum of two years of RN experience in ICU, BMT/Hematology, or PCU is strongly preferred.
