A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides high-quality resident care and support services in accordance with established policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with the nursing team to ensure the highest degree of quality resident care is provided at all times.
Responsibilities- Provide direct resident care as directed by the RN and LPN, including activities of daily living such as bathing, feeding, dressing, transporting, toileting, and ambulating residents.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for residents, including completing safety checks, keeping the department and resident rooms clean and organized, and cleaning department-specific equipment.
- Respond to resident needs and calls in a timely manner, and provide feedback to the RN/LPN regarding resident care and report changes in resident status in a timely manner.
- Assist with feeding, deliver resident nourishments, and fill water pitchers as needed.
- Perform routine tests such as resident weights, vital signs, and Intake & Outputs.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Knowledge of body mechanics and transfer techniques.
- Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
- CPR certification required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
- Act 34 and OAPSA clearances.
