Senior Vice President of Project Development and Operations

OCI Energy LLC is seeking an experienced Executive Vice President of Project Development to lead and oversee activities related to greenfield project development across various markets.
This key executive role will encompass areas from prospecting to completing project development and ensuring alignment with the company's strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities- Lead all phases of greenfield project development, from prospecting to development completion, including prospecting, land outreach, leasing and purchasing, title, surveys, transmission, interconnection, local tax incentives, permitting, and development studies.
- Oversee and cultivate a competent and dynamic project development team.
- Foster relations with key consultants and partners.
- Attend and manage regular project development meetings, ensuring tasks are prioritized and objectives are met.
- Provide strategic input to direct reports, ensuring the resolution of challenges.
- Facilitate collaboration and coordination among divisions within the project development department and with other departments.
- Ensure alignment of project development activities with the company's overarching strategy and goals.
- Periodically review and update processes to ensure adaptability and efficiency, especially with organizational growth.
- Review, negotiate, and execute agreements related to project development, ensuring minimized liabilities and high-quality documentation.
- Assist in reviewing and negotiating project transactions with clients and financial stakeholders.
- Represent the company at key public meetings if needed, to secure permits or incentives.
- Engage cross-functionally with business development, legal, finance, and EPC teams to ensure integrated project progression.
- Protect the interests of OCI in the capacity of the high-level liaison with key partners.
- Set budgets, and ensure capex tracking and budget control.
- Review and approve all purchase orders related to project development.
- Prepare monthly project development summary reports for leadership and board meetings.
- Support the President and collaborate with other executives in strategic decision-making.
- Assist in reviewing and responding to Request for Proposals (RFPs).
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field. Master's degree or MBA preferred.
- Fifteen plus (15+) years of experience; including minimum of 7 in project development, preferably in the solar or renewable energy sector.
- Comprehensive knowledge of greenfield project development processes including land acquisition, real estate, permitting, interconnection, transmission, tax incentives, and development studies.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, and develop high-performing teams.
- Proven experience in strategic planning and business development.
- Proficiency in budgeting, capex tracking, and financial management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to represent the company at public and executive-level meetings.
- Strong negotiation skills, especially concerning contracts, agreements, and project transactions.
- Experience in working cross-functionally with diverse teams, including legal, finance, and engineering.
- Ability to align team objectives with the company's strategic goals.
- Proven track record of providing strategic insights and solutions to challenges.
- Experience in process optimization and organizational development.
- Expertise in reviewing and negotiating project development related agreements and contracts.
- Proven ability to cultivate relationships with consultants, partners, and stakeholders.
- Competence in preparing detailed reports for executive and board-level audiences.
- Experience in reviewing and responding to RFPs.
- Ability to adapt to organizational growth and evolving industry trends.
- Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with advancements in the solar and renewable energy sector.
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends when required.
