Pharmacy Technician

As a Pharmacy Technician at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient distribution of medications to patients. Under the supervision of a pharmacist, you will be responsible for preparing and dispensing prescribed medications, performing compounding of medications, and assisting in managing inventory.

• Prepare and distribute medications in accordance with FHS policies and procedures, The Joint Commission requirements, and Department of Health regulations.
• Perform clerical and administrative tasks in support of the day-to-day operations of the department.
• Maintain proper medication and supply stock levels.
• Operate and maintain automated medication delivery systems and devices.
• Participate in department quality assurance programs and maintain appropriate quality assurance documentation.

• Graduation from an accredited Pharmacy Technician training program, and one year of hospital work experience or hospital rotation within an accredited training program that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities.
• Current license as a Pharmacy Technician by the Washington State Board of Pharmacy.
• Possession of a current Washington State Driver's license required only for those staff with an "off site refill" assignment.
