Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol hospital and grounds to prevent fires, theft, vandalism, and respond to security needs of personnel
  • Ensure only authorized personnel are admitted onto premises
  • Maintain current information in logs and write clear, concise reports
  • Respond to burglary, fire, panic, equipment alarms, and code alerts
  • Report safety, fire, and security hazards observed on routine patrols and inspections
  • Monitor and maintain CCTV system, two-way radio systems, and alarm systems
  • Prepare crime, incident, information, and lost and found reports
  • Provide escorts for visitors, patients, and personnel to and from parking areas
  • Participate in performance improvement programs
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two or more years' experience in law enforcement and/or security
  • DPSST certification within 90 days of hire
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret security reports and technical procedures
  • Ability to write detailed reports and maintain logs
  • Effective communication skills and ability to respond to the general public
Working Conditions

The Security Officer will work in a fast-paced hospital environment and may be required to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. The position requires the ability to wear a bullet-proof vest while on duty.
