Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Recycling Plant Manager to join our team at Pratt Industries. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of our recycling plant, ensuring efficient and safe operations, and driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate the activities of skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled trade employees to minimize interruptions and improve efficiency.
  • Plan and oversee the development of the facility, formulation of operating rules, regulations, and procedures.
  • Develop and implement procedures for emergency situations, such as accidents, fires, or other incidents.
  • Inspect plant facilities and supervise building service personnel.
  • Assign workers to duties such as maintenance, repair, or renovation and obtain bids for additional work from outside contractors.
  • Plan and administer the building department budget.
  • Compile records of labor and material costs for operating the building and issue cost reports to management.
  • Review reports of expenditures for the previous fiscal year and proposed improvements to facilities to prepare budget estimates for the upcoming fiscal year.
  • Purchase building and maintenance supplies, machinery, equipment, and furniture.
  • Direct contracted projects to ensure adherence to specifications.
  • Be responsible for the procurement of utilities or operations of utility systems.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or High School diploma with equivalent experience.
  • Safety process and experience in safety conduct, procedures, and protocols.
  • Supervision of all levels of plant employees.
  • Coaching and managing processes.
  • ADP and SAP experience.
  • Process improvement.
  • Production planning.
  • A broad and in-depth knowledge of labor relations, manufacturing/operations methods, production planning, and quality programs.
  • Professional attitude and conduct.
  • Multi-task, interpersonal communication, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • High degree of safety awareness and safety discipline.
  • Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times.
  • Willing to travel and work away from home when and if required.
  • Be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
  • Strictly adhere to safety requirements and the policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Have the willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by PRATT Safety and OSAH.
  • Be at least age 18 years of age due to the nature of the working environment.
