We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) III to join our Advanced Care Clinic team at UT Health San Antonio. This is a part-time night shift position, working from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am.
Job Responsibilities- Provide professional direct patient nursing care to a diverse patient population, utilizing advanced clinical skills and knowledge.
- Assist in coaching and mentoring department staff in areas of clinical and professional practice, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork.
- Lead unit and shared governance activities, serving as a charge nurse as needed, and assessing unit needs related to practice and improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with the interprofessional health care team to facilitate patient throughput efficiently, minimizing incidental overtime and optimizing efficiency.
- Develop and implement effective patient teaching strategies, using appropriate resources and incorporating planning for care after discharge.
- Drive department activities to improve department scores for patient satisfaction, through peer-to-peer accountability and leadership.
- Model the standards of care related to the nursing process, providing care as the staff nurse leader to complex patients and leading the interprofessional health care team in implementing plan of care.
- Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited School of Nursing required.
- Two (2) years nursing experience in a healthcare environment required.
- Current Texas Board of Nursing (or Compact State) RN license required or temporary TX License (Permanent license to be obtained within 90 days of hire).
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
- NIHSS required (within 6 months of hire date).
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required (within 6 months of hire date).
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required (within 6 months of hire date).
