Job Title: Registered Nurse - Float Med Surg

Inova Health System is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Med/Surg Telemetry Float Pool. As a Float Med Surg Registered Nurse, you will have the opportunity to work on various units within the medical/surgical and telemetry departments.

Job Summary

We are looking for a talented RN to provide safe patient care at a basic level and demonstrate growth in their ability to care for increasingly complex patients. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work collaboratively with the healthcare team, and have a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive patient health assessments and formulate individualized plans of care based on assessment findings.
  • Support and empower patient/families as they progress through the healthcare continuum from health promotion to end of life decisions.
  • Advocate for patients' rights from the patient/family perspective while providing counsel and acting as a resource to resolve issues.
  • Anticipate ethical, spiritual, and cultural needs of patients and intervene to maximize patient outcomes and coordinate healthcare and alternate services for patient/family transition planning.
  • Document all patient care activities, as per documentation standards, and assist healthcare team members with documentation.
Requirements
  • BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associates Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
  • BLS for Healthcare Provider Certification required.
  • RN licensed, or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a RN.
  • 2 years of Acute care experience.
