Diesel Mechanic Job Description

Waste Connections is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Kilgore, Texas. This is a 2nd shift position (2pm-2am) with excellent pay, benefits, and opportunities for growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment to ensure compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
  • Complete required paperwork using fleet maintenance software to document repairs, parts usage, and repair times.
  • Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
  • Perform maintenance-related work as required, including cleaning and maintaining a safe work area.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues to ensure needed repairs or tasks are completed efficiently.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in heavy truck equipment maintenance and repair, or completion of a diesel tech program.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with colleagues and management.
