Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Transmission Project Manager to join our team at AMP Public Power Partners. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for executing transmission construction projects throughout our member footprint on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and evaluate requests for proposals to ensure alignment with our business objectives.
  • Coordinate and manage activities throughout the project development process, including ROW and real estate acquisition, design, material procurement, construction, and closeout.
  • Communicate and coordinate with our members on project activities, ensuring timely and effective project delivery.
  • Review consultants and contractors' performance, applications for payment, and contract modifications, resolving disputes and claims in a proactive manner.
  • Manage agreements and amendments, ensuring compliance with our business standards.
  • Create purchase requisitions and process construction invoices, maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Develop and report on construction project budgets, regular budget updates, variances, progress, and expenses, and construction contract records.
  • Coordinate with our Director of Transmission Operations on outage scheduling and execution, ensuring seamless project delivery.
  • Coordinate the delivery of all owner-furnished equipment at all sites, ensuring timely and effective project completion.
  • Ensure construction performance is in compliance with specifications, on schedule, and within budget, maintaining high-quality project outcomes.
  • Maintain proficiency on FERC Standards of Conduct, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with other AMPT functions, fostering a collaborative and effective work environment.
  • Oversee the work of consultants and legal professionals as required, ensuring effective project delivery.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the success of our organization.
Requirements
  • Two-year Associate's degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, Construction Management, or a related field required; Bachelor of Science degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction project management required; 5 years preferred.
  • Critical path-oriented and able to manage/prioritize multiple tasks, ensuring timely and effective project delivery.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to creatively solve problems in a collaborative environment.
  • Experienced using software tools that produce spreadsheets, written reports, database reports, and graphical presentations (e.g., Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of project management software tools, with the ability to effectively utilize them.
  • Willingness to travel to assigned project locations, ensuring effective project delivery.
