Job Summary

Centria Autism is seeking a highly skilled Behavior Technician to join our team of professionals dedicated to providing exceptional care to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). As a Behavior Technician, you will play a vital role in helping our clients develop critical developmental skills, such as language and communication, social, and school readiness behaviors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct client care in 1:1 and group settings, utilizing a combination of intensive teaching and natural environment training.
  • Implement prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols as outlined in the client's individualized treatment plan.
  • Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior.
  • Assist with parent and caregiver training in line with the client's individualized treatment and behavior reduction protocols.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of client progress and therapy sessions.
  • Effectively communicate with parents and caregivers regarding client progress, as instructed by the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
  • Maintain a safe and organized work and therapy environment.
  • Assist the BCBA in preparation of client materials, behavior reduction assessments, and skills acquisition.
Requirements
  • Must hold and maintain current certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or be willing to complete a 40-hour training course and sit for the RBT competency exam within 45 days of employment.
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Reliable transportation and, in some cases, proof of driver's license and valid car insurance.
  • Ability to physically perform the job, including getting down on the floor and standing up many times, lifting up to 50lbs, and the ability to run/move quickly if required for the interaction with and safety of the children.
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to follow and carry out detailed instructions, and strong cultural competency.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to remain flexible and open-minded.
  • Bilingual in Spanish.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working as a Behavioral Technician, in a capacity with children with autism or other learning disabilities, Teacher's Aid, Tutor, CNA, Caregiver, or Home Health Aide.
