POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Dietary Aide is responsible for a range of activities related to meal preparation, service, and post-meal cleanup for residents and staff, including special occasions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the head cook as instructed by the food service manager
  • Prepare and label snacks and nourishments in accordance with facility protocols
  • Prepare and portion desserts, salads, and other non-entrée items; serve beverages
  • Adhere to production sheets and guidelines as necessary

REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential
  • Ability to read and comprehend English for workplace purposes
  • Basic knowledge of sanitation, organization, and safety practices is necessary
  • Previous experience in food service, particularly in long-term care settings, is advantageous
