The West Virginia University Transportation Unit seeks experienced professionals to fill the role of PRT Maintenance Specialists. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our Personal Rapid Transit (PRT) system.
Key Duties- Maintenance and Upkeep: Perform routine maintenance tasks, including inspection and repair of PRT electrical, mechanical, and structural installations, as well as ancillary equipment.
- Supporting Staff: Provide general labor support to maintenance technicians, including setting up PRT vehicles for positioning or removal from the guideway and assisting with vehicle recovery efforts.
- Dealing with Emergencies: Participate in emergency response teams to ensure the safe evacuation of the PRT system, removal of injured persons, and performance of extensive repairs.
- Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain passenger stations, buildings, and facilities through custodial services, including operating electric polishers, carpet shampooing machines, and high-pressure washers.
- Associates degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience required
- A valid US driver's license and a passing score on a background check are required.
