Position Overview:
As an integral part of the Mountain States Steel workforce, you will collaborate with a dedicated team of production specialists in a shop environment.

Key Responsibilities:
This role involves the precise layout and fitting of pre-fabricated components to construct structural buildings and bridge girders in accordance with technical blueprints and welding expertise.

  • Select appropriate equipment and plan the layout for assembly and welding.
  • Utilize knowledge of geometry, the physical properties of metals, welding shrinkage, and various welding techniques.
  • Accurately position, align, and fit components together.
  • Secure parts in place using bolts, clamps, tack welds, and other methods to prepare for final welding.

Additional Duties:
The position may also involve repairing products by disassembling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling components using tools such as cutting torches, straightening presses, and hand tools.

Qualifications:
Applicants must possess experience in structural steel fitting and demonstrate the ability to interpret structural steel blueprints and welding symbols.

Welding Test Requirement:
1G or 3G, 1" vertical, 7" long, 1/4" root opening, 1/16" flux core (hot) inner/dual shield.
