Job Description

Overview

North Suburban Medical Center is seeking a skilled Respiratory Practitioner PRN to join our team. As a vital part of our patient care team, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
  • Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
  • Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
  • Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
  • Monitor patient for therapeutic response and notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.
  • Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients and respond to emergent patient situations.

Requirements

  • NBRC-accredited RRT credential.
  • Current Colorado Respiratory License.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications through AHA or ARC.
  • PALS certification.
  • NRP preferred (must have prior to working in NICU).
  • Graduate of AMA-accredited Respiratory Therapist Program.
  • 6 months of previous experience.
